I use my art to raise money for Community Action Nepal. IN 2019 and 2020 I produced artwork for Nepal calendars which I then sold, In 2019 they raised over £2000 and £3000 in 2020, along with sales of cards and face masks, so thank you to everyone who helped with this.

HIMALAYAS REVISITED was my last exhibition at Saddleworth Museum and Art Gallery.
It was a new body of work depicting a recent trip revisiting the Himalayas including the 6 paintings which were selected for the Great North Art Show' in Ripon Cathedral, an immense privilege. I used my sketches from my stay in the Nepalese village of Philim to develop my works.

Some of the new works are made with acrylic inks with a more contemporary feel to them complemented by being on large, deep unframed cradled boards. I used oils, watercolour and acrylics in other works too.
The paintings for this website include most of my most recent works. I have now begun to paint on a much larger scale as well as develop different subjects.

In 2018 we moved over the Pennines to live in Penistone, South Yorkshire, with my husband David. We needed to be nearer to our daughter and grand daughters.
We both lived and worked in Nepal for 2 years in the 1980s doing Voluntary Service Overseas.
Our experiences in Nepal have made us who we are. I was thrilled to return in 2017 and am planning my next trip.

We have two grown up children, Peter (and wife Katherine) and Anna (and husband Lee) and 2 beautiful Granddaughters - Sophie Rose and Maisie (and a dog called Douggie).
I was the organist at St John the Baptist, Hey for over 10 years and it was a great wrench to leave.

I started the Friday Painting Class at Saddleworth Museum and Art Gallery in 2009, and the Thursday, Grotton Painting Class in 2013, for adults, some of whom had very little or no experience of painting, we all learn lots from each other. We use mainly watercolours and acrylics in alternate weeks and on occasions pastels and other media.
