About my work

About my work

The paintings for this website include most of my most recent works. I have now begun to paint on a much larger scale as well as develop different subjects.

I live in Grotton with my husband David, who also frames my large canvasses. We both lived and worked in Nepal for 2 years in the 1980s doing Voluntary Service Overseas, our experiences in Nepal have made us who we are.
We have two grown up children, Peter (and wife Katherine) and Anna (and husband Lee) and a beautiful Granddaughter - Sophie Rose, (and a puppy called Douggie). I am also the Organist at St. John the Baptist, Hey.

I have just finished working on the sixth visual arts project at Medlock Valley Community School- this year we have been creating lots of multicultural art in 3D !!!
Last year we used different curriculum topics leading to wards large finished works rather than individual pieces.

I am currently working on an art project at Hey with Zion Primary School, using classic children's literature as stimuli.

I started the Friday Painting Class at Saddleworth Museum and Art Gallery in 2009, and the Thursday, Grotton Painting Class in 2013, for adults, some of whom had very little or no experience of painting, we all learn lots from each other. We use mainly watercolours and acrylics in alternate weeks and on occasions pastels and other media.

Both the Thursday and Friday Classes meet at Grotton pavilion fortnightly on Thursday from 1.30 -3.30 New members are always made most welcome at both classes and can attend either class (as long as you let me know, so there are enough materials and cake!)
I provide all materials, resources and instruction as well as refreshments.
